Er Boquerón

Er Boquerón isn’t just another craft beer: it’s the first one brewed with Mediterranean seawater. And that’s not just beachy marketing, it’s a real part of the recipe and its soul. It’s from Spain and comes as a light, fresh Golden Ale that’s easy to drink but still different. A beer that hints at coast, breeze, and summer, while keeping a clean, classic beer base.

Ingredients

Its core is simple: fresh water plus treated seawater, barley malt, yeast, and hops. It uses four malts — Pilsner, Pale Ale, Munich, and Caramel — for soft body and warm color, and three hops — Willamette, Mount Hood, and Challenger — for aroma and gentle bitterness. The seawater adds mineral notes that make it stand out.

Making

It’s made in a craft way: unfiltered, unpasteurized, and with no added gas. It ferments slowly and is bottled as is, so it stays alive and true to style. The seawater isn’t a gimmick, it’s the key feature and its signature touch.

Tasting

In the glass it shows a golden tone with a slight haze and amber hints. On the nose there’s soft fruit and a light malt base. On the palate it’s fresh, with a soft sweetness, a very subtle saline touch, and low bitterness (IBU 22), finishing smooth and clean. Great with seafood, rice dishes, fish, pasta and tapas.
